Shuksan strawberries
are best known for how well they taste, make jam, and
freeze. Shuksan produces large glossy
fruit, with bright, red tough skin. It is also good eaten
fresh. Climate Zones: 6 to 10. This variety is especially
suited to the Northwest. It produces large crops every
year. The fruit is of medium to large size, firm, dark red
and has excellent flavor. It has been the top choice for
years for a freezer berry and it is also tops for fresh
eating. It ripens in late June.
